EUR2019 – Day 7 – London to Chester

London, UK to Chester, UK

Sunday, September 8, 2019

Not much to write today as it was a travelling day. Checked out of the hotel and made my way up to Paddington Station to catch the tube to Euston. Luckily for me it’s a Sunday, as trying to do that trip at that time of morning on a weekday with luggage would not have been fun! Made it with plenty of time though and stopped to get some food for the train trip.

Only a relatively short trip today, two hours or so from London to Crewe and then a change of trains for the half hour or so trip to Chester. The trains were nice and smooth though, and a lot quieter than I was expecting considering we hit 200km/hr at one point! Once I arrived in Chester I dropped my bag off at the hotel (a little too early for check in) and then headed out to have a look around. It’s not my first trip here, so I kind of know my way around already which is nice. Took a couple of photos and then spent a chunk of time in Starbucks researching and planning my stay.

Tomorrow I’m booked on a guided tour of Chester Cathedral, which will be nice, though it includes climbing the tower, which could be tiring! Looking forward to it though!
